Poster Moday : Let’s keep in touch
Joanna Gniady from Wroclaw, Poland is in our first Poster Monday spot of the day with her poster entitled Let’s keep in touch. Joanna is an illustrator that works for many international magazines, cultural institutions, publishing houses and bands, and is represented by the Parisian agency Creasenso. Every year she collaborates with the Cultural Division of Municipality of Wroclaw, preparing posters for the European Night of Museums and she recently became a merit winner of the Professional Show 3×3.
Her big passion is creating posters for films, music and various events in Poland and abroad. Some of them have been exhibited at design festivals – Graphic Design Festival Scotland or Design Week Portland, to name a few.
The Poster Let’s keep in touch is a result of the collaboration with Mateusz Koncewicz, the smartest copywriter in Wroclaw. Some time ago they decided to create a personal, ongoing poster project under the working title Gang Ex. Their works are a bit nonsensical and absurd – the goal is to make people look at the reality in a not-so-serious way. Joanna tell us “We both love contradictions and irony, that’s why Let’s be in touch is optymistic and harmlessly pessimistic at the same time. In its case the illustration was first and then Mateusz came up with a text. Focused on the theme of a romantic relationship, we wanted to show a wordplay between physical (amorously excessive, as in the picture) touch and “being in touch”. We wink an eye at Exes-to-be couples and would be very happy if that slogan became kind of a mental shortcut for some of them ;-)”
