Poster Monday: A dream of sweet illusion
The second Poster Monday spot of the day comes from Iran, it is entitled “A dream of sweet illusion” and it was designed by Meysam namdar. He was born in Kermanshah, Iran, has been in professional activity since 2003, is a member of Iran’s Institution of Visual Fine Arts Development and the first secretary of the Red Poster Biennial.
The poster “A dream of sweet illusion” was produced on linocut and digital print and it deals with the addiction’s subject, in Meysam words “Withdrawal is the body’s reaction to abstaining from an addictive substance of which it has become dependant and tolerant.
Without the substance, physiological functions that were dependent on the substance will react because of the body’s tolerance and developed dependence. Chemical and hormonal imbalances may arise if the substance is not introduced. Physiological and psychological stress is to be expected if the substance is not re-introduced.”
