Poster Monday: Glass live
For the second Poster Monday spot of the day we have a poster coming from Poland designed by Grzegorz Myćka entitled “Glass live”. Grzegorz was born in Zielona Góra in 1989, he lives in Poznań and studies at the University of Arts, Faculty of graphics with a specialization in Printmaking, for so he also enjoys doing stuff like silkscreen, linocut and lithography.
Some of Grzegorz’s work has been part of many different poster competitions and exhibitions, to name a few: International Student Poster Biennale in Novi Sad, International Student Poster Biennale in Lublin, Voice of Peace in Kiev, Ukraine. Besides posters he also likes doing illustrations, short animations and satirical drawings.
The poster “Glass live” is a part of a series of gig posters Grzegorz did for his band (where he plays guitar) called GLASS (in polish SZKŁO). They play a weird mix of Rock, Jazz and Funk. “Every poster is printed manually, using screen print technology, which gives me the opportunity to use special kinds of papers and inks (glossy papers, gold inks etc.). Usually I do up to 15 copies so every single print is kind of a small work of art, and because I’m using rather old fashioned ways for producing them, where the printing process sometimes brings unexpected results, they all are different and identical at the same time.” says Grzegorz.
Whenever they’re having a concert Grzegorz takes care of the visual side of the whole thing. Sometimes along with the concerts they have an opening of an art exhibition and at the end a jam session. We are sure these may be really interesting events, if you happened to be around go and enjoy for us. If you aren’t lucky enough you can always visit Grzegorz facebook’s page as we will do.
