Poster Monday: Number Nine Happiness Culture
The second Poster Monday spot of the day belongs to John Rivas from Puerto Rico for his poster entitled “Number Nine Happiness Culture”. John Rivas was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. He is an award winning and well known Graphic Designer & Publicist, and also the creator of Bonzzo The Comic Strip.
He has over 30 years of professional experience on the Graphic Arts & Advertising fields. He is the president of “John Rivas Publicidad”, an advertising agency located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. John holds a BA in Graphic Arts – Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico, a Master’s Degree in Digital Graphic Design from Atlantic University and various instructor certifications and accreditations, in Graphic Design, Digital Photography and Operating Systems.
The poster “Number Nine Happiness Culture” was inspired by Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and the Culture of Happiness theme. “I used Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony as a base to develop the design. Musical notes are in the form of yoyos… some rise and others fall as it happens in emotions and events that negatively and positively affect us in life; ups and downs as Beethoven showed in his work.” says John.
John has been recognized in various competitions, including the Communicators Awards, held by the AIVA (Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts); and the GDUSA American Graphic Design Awards, GDUSA American Package Design Awards and GDUSA American Web Design Awards, held by Graphic Design USA.
