For the last Poster Monday spot of November we present the poster “Troy” by Chikako Oguma form Tokio Japan. She studied fine art at Nihon University College of Art. While studying art, and was also interested in design, the one who learned at work and self-study, and now work as an art director and graphic designer, Chikako is involved in a wide range of designs such as books, logos, posters, and signatures. Participated in poster exhibitions around the world and won the Platinum Award at Graphis Poster Annual 2018. Since 2017, she has been working on books such as the publication of zine as a little book label “YOU ARE HERE” and participation in the art book fair.
This poster was created for the “Poster of Troy 2018” 20th anniversary commemorative poster exhibition after Troy Ruins was selected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; this exhibition was organized from Governorship of Canakkale in Canakkale, Turkey, from 26th November to 6th December 2018. “In the middle of the year I was invited by Didem Çatal to participate in the exhibition and I feel romance that the “Trojan Horse”, which was thought to be the story of the mythical world, is a real historical fact. So we created a visual that included various images with the motif of a horse from a Trojan horse” says Chikako.
