Poster Monday: Radicalization Leading to Terrorism
The last March Poster Monday is for Wuhua Wu from China for her poster “Radicalization Leading to Terrorism”. She is a freelance designer living in Japan, Wuhua Wu taught graphic design in a university in China for 13 years. At the same time, was a freelance designer and had done nearly 40 book designs (publications) and multiple brand designs include: Amcor (Chengdu) Company, Sichuan Guosha Group, China Aviation Group, Sichuan Fine Arts Publishing House, Sichuan University Press, Hubei Fine Arts Publishing House and many other institutions. In the past two years, her works have been selected into many international poster competitions such as Lahti International Poster Triennial in Finland, one of the five famous poster exhibitions in the world. She has been invited by graphic design organizations in China, Japan, Korea, Iran, Turkey, Indonesia and other countries to participate in exhibitions or competitions.
Wuhua Wu told about her poster: “I designed this poster after being invited by the organizer Dept.of Design, College of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad in 2022. This is an international poster biennale, the name of the exhibition is 1ST INTERNATIONAL POSTER BIENNALE 2023 RADICALIZATION, and the theme of the exhibition is RADICALIZATION. I designed this poster by combining crumpled tinfoil and RADICALIZATION text design. The crumpled tinfoil and distorted fonts are the result of radicalization, showing the meaning that radicalization can lead to terrorism”.
