Poster Monday: 100
For this week we are featuring a poster designed by Sirin Doga Ozsoyler entitled “100”. Sirin studying graphic design in Yeditepe University and also do a minor in computer engineering. She wants to be computer game designer in the future.
The concept of the “100” poster is to commemorate the centennial anniversary of May 19, 1919 in Turkey. This day is really important because the War of Independence of Turkey begins. It means a new beginning, resistance and the rebirth of this nation. In 1919, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk arrived in Samsun with naval force. This rope as a marine object symbolizes the arrival to Samsun. “I think my poster provides a new perspective on this subject. From what I see most of the posters are generally simple and uniform. I tried to put a different point of view “says Sirin.
