Poster Monday: ARTificial reality
For the third Poster Monday spot of june we have a poster from Arijana Kadic entitled “ARTificial reality”. Arijana was born in 1994 in Podgorica Montenegro. She studied on Faculty of Fine Arts Cetinje, Graphic Design Department. Currently lives and works in Podgorica.
“ARTificial reality” is inspired by relation between technology and art . “I used one of the most famous painting of Renaissance, painted by Leonardo da Vinci, who had, in some way, an influence on creating our present and future. What was his imagination, it is our reality now. On first sight I related two unrelated elements: robot and the Lady with an Ermine, but on the poster they form an integrated whole. One can’t dispute other. These century brings us some superficially perceptions and divide us from classical education and oldschool values; but I wanted to show that under the surface of old and classical things there is very contemporary ideas, concepts and access“
“Art and artists are confronted with many challenges and in the world of capitalist system, mass production and consumer society they are forced to submit to the needs of the market. Everything has a price and everything counts in large amounts – which is symbolized by a bar code on the ermine. But even in the 16th century art was the main source of income for artists. Maybe we should stop criticizing technological advances, stop enjoying nostalgia for past times and accepting our present, embracing history and creating the future“ says Arijana.
Poster design is the way to express some opinions, visions, to ask a questions or answer on them… It is more than decoration. So, i am inspired by specific topics and by engaged design.
