Poster Monday: Eye
The second Poster Monday belongs to Dominika Grodzka from a small town in Poland for her poster “Eye”. Dominika study graphic design in Tarnów.
The poster “Eye” was created as a student assignment. “In our modern world, money seems to be becoming the fundamental criterion of a peaceful life. Many of the universal needs of every human being like freedom, security, health, youth, love, recognition, fun, rest, kindness of others … you can get it for money. The eye of providence and the dollar are symbols of this principle” says Dominika . The goal of the poster was to address the moral dilemma that everyone faces in a simple and easy way. It can be interpreted on two levels. The eye of providence, watches over us and it is positive, but the dollar symbol (the most recognizable currency in the world) also has a negative meaning: exploitation, suffering, violence, deception, and hypocrisy. I approached the task classically: from writing down the assumptions to their implementation. The biggest difficulty to overcome was the constant desire to embellish this form of graphic expression. Ultimately, the project remained unchanged, in its simplest, rawest version.
