The second Poster Monday of the day entitled “Mourning Tianjin” comes from United States and it belongs to Keith Kitz. He have a BA from The University of Mount St. Joseph and a MFA from Boston University. Keith its extremely passionate about posters as a communication design medium. Last year, he started making at least one piece a day—something that he continues to do, Mourning Tianjin it’s the number 288. Keith says “I love that this is a medium I can create almost anywhere, and use almost anything as material. I’ve always liked making things and knew at a very young age that I needed to find a way to make a living doing what I love”.

Following the news regarding the deadly explosions in Tianjin, Keith did what most artist do, using his craft to process the event. “Creating the piece was personally therapeutic. I’m hopeful that when others see the piece they too can have a moment of reflection and connection. Though this event occurred on the other side of the globe, I know people here who were personally affected. It’s moments like this that demonstrate that though we are often miles apart, we really are part of one global community”.
