Poster Monday: ”Society is Addicted”
For this Poster Monday spot we have the poster ”Society is addicted” by Melih Gürpına from Turkey. At present the communication between people is mediated by multiple technological devices that allows for us to be in contact with hundreds of people all the time and in any place. Although this can be beneficial for life, it has also managed to change our behaviour where people speak less to each other, as the words and conversations face to face were replaced for silences. The communication of feelings, ideas and personal emotions are gradually replaced by frequently shared contents without the content being just entertainment. “I wanted people to move away from their electronic devices. Even for a moment when they see my drawing on the internet” says Melih.
Melih Gürpınar was born in Sakarya, Turkey in 1996; he studied high school in Sakarya Atatürk and is currently studying at Istanbul Yeditepe University in the Fine Arts Faculty Graphic Design Department. Melih tell us “I like designing, especially, when it concerns sociological and global problems. Designing pushes you to research a lot. Watching the world, closely reading, learning new things everyday is what makes me happy. This is why I study graphic design and I have never regretted it.”
If you would like to submit a poster to be featured on Poster Mondays find all the info you need to participate in our submissions page.
