Poster Monday: Theater Director
From Moscow, Russia, Irina Goryacheva is our first Poster Monday featured designer of the day. Irina, a passionate girl about Russian avantgarde, Bauhaus, colorful geometric shapes, typography, experimental music and spaceflights, graduated in Graphic Design from Moscow Institute of Industrial and Applied Arts in 2012 and since 2005 she has been working as a graphic designer with a strong focus on poster design. Currently she is living in Barcelona working as a communication designer and art director for a wide range of cultural institutions.
In 2013 her posters for the Pokrovsky Opera theater won the Best of the Best Red Dot Design award in communication design, but that’s not all, just take a look at her website.
The poster “Theater Director” was created for the premiere of Mozart’s opera “Der Schauspieldirektor” (The Impresario) at Moscow Chamber Musical Theater (Pokrovsky Opera). The main idea was to produce a simple but still eye-catching and playful poster.
When you look at the picture you can both see a plan of the theater hall and the face of the theater director. Literally, the theater hall with a stage IS the face of the impresario. And you can also recognize Mozart in this picture with his famous iconic wig.
Great! Congratulations!
