Exhibition: Jan Młodożeniec
Small, Grand Works
Jan Młodożeniec was a world-famous poster designer from Poland. His incredible career as a designer spanned decades, and he is one of the “founding fathers” of the Polish school of posters. His achievements in designing film posters over the years made way for him to do work for movies such as Once Upon a Time in America, and The Conformist.
Currently, the Film Museum in Lodz, Poland, is hosting an exciting exhibition of Jan’s work of posters. More than 100 original film posters are being shown between the months of April – July 2017 at this great museum. Some of the oldest works date back to the 1950’s. The second part of this exhibition will feature work designed by Jan’s sons, representing the next generation of artists. This exhibition is a great opportunity for the public to experience the beauty of film poster in person and to gain an understanding of how it has evolved through the designs of Jan Młodożeniec over the years.
