Poster Monday: Hombre
The second Poster Monday spot belongs to Gabriel Pulpo from Mexico City for his poster entitled “Hombre” (Man).
Gabriel is a Graphic Designer from the “Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana”. He has worked as Senior designer in different design agencies but since 2003 he works professionally as a freelancer. His posters has been selected and exhibited all over the world in countries like Netherlands, Italy, Iran, Japan, Germany, Spain, Cuba and Mexico.
“The campaign (designed in 1997, featuring a poster for men and other for women) was a success at the University campus, the students stole the posters, the females students demanded more the “Woman’ version and so that was very important for me, because the AIDS issue at that time was not only focused for gay people.” says Gabriel.
By working on this project under the request of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Azcapotzalco, Mexico, Gabriel found a common language with the students to talk about love, sex and to explain the importance of HIV/AIDS prevention.
