Poster Monday: Renaud-Bray bookshop
Laurent Pinabel, an Art director, graphic designer and illustrator, member of the Society of Graphic Designers of Quebec (SDGQ) born in France is in our first Poster Monday spot of the day with a poster from the serie for the “Renaud-Bray bookshop”.
Laurent has been a graphic designer since 20 years and creating posters is his favorite activity. He made posters for a lot of festivals and theater shows and has built many visuals for the Quebec cultural scene. His posters integrate the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Quebec and he has been selected and invited to participate at the International Poster Biennial of Mexico 2014.
“Renaud-Bray was just a bookshop at the beginning. Actually, it sells a lots of things (books, games, toys, dvd, cd, gifts…). When you go in, you go out with something more than what you need. So, the client wanted a series of posters with no special promotion. Just something nice to promote books, games and gifts. I had «carte blanche».“ says Laurent.
The style is a mix of collage. I wanted to create an image where the book takes on another dimension, as the client. Show that when you get into the libraries you live an experience, you enter in the imaginary.
