Poster Monday: A Man with Sealed Lips
The first Monday Poster of march is from Rasool Haghjoo from Iran and is titled “A Man with Sealed Lips”. He is a member of Iranian graphic designers’ society (IGDS), Member of Iranian theater poster designer’s association (ITPODA). Rasool has won numerous awards (In Writing, Designing, Role Playing, and Directing Categories) and prizes both at National and International festivals, Such as 1st Prize of the San Francisco – IFF International Festival (As Graphic Designer), 2nd and 3rd Prize of the Fadjr International Theater Festival (As Graphic Designer),1st Prize of the Fadjr International Theater Festival (As Writer), 2nd Prize of the Fadjr International Theater Festival (As Street Theater Director) and etc. He works as theater writer and actor, graphic designer and filmmaker.
The poster “A Man with Sealed Lips”, is a poster for a documentary film. The story of the film is about a very quiet artist, named Abdolreza Hayati, who was also a famous icon in Khouzestan state. He passed away a few years ago, was a writer and also a mentor for two young artist’s generations. “I tried to – based on film title – foucus on lips and mouth and make the lips with stone. It’s because his silence and quietness. He knew everything but he never ever barging of the situations and just keep doing his job. in the background if the poster you can see one of his last notes, written by his handwriting. I also tried to make some changes in the poster typography and turn it to the stitches” tell us Rasool.
