Poster Monday: Cinerama
Raul Ronald Moreno a.k.a. “Radial” from Lima, Peru is in our second Poster Monday spot of the day for the poster “Cinerama”. Raul is an Art Director and graphic artist, he has worked for many independent and creative agencies. His relationship with the posters started at young age, he had some fixation with the vinyl records covers and the power of a single image.
The concept was to develop a piece that could takes us to the Art Deco and the aesthetics of that century, where graphic and poster design started. For the creative process Raul asked himself, “What if the poster artists from that time had the tools we have today? What type of poster would they made? That’s how I started the process, seeking references from Constructivism, Bauhaus and Art Deco influences to try to reflect then all in one piece”.
Inspired by the early years of cinema and Art Deco, shape is given through a retro futuristic vision, as taken from a novel by Jules Verne or as a B-movie.
