Poster Monday: Lucerne World Japan
Today’s Poster Monday is entitled “Lucerne, World, Japan” and was designed by Luis Rutz. Luis works and lives in Heidelberg, Germany, where he is studying Communication Design at the HS Mannheim. He became interested in typography, after meeting people like Götz Gramlich or Niklaus Troxler. Luis says “Posters currently dominate my work, offering a great medium for unifying art and design”.
This poster was made during a workshop with Anette Lenz at the swiss “Fachklasse” in Lucerne. The topic was “world”. Luis explains: “At this time, there was an exhibition in town, showing the artistic connection between Lucerne and Japan. The intercultural connection is visualized in the writing, tied by swapping the tools. All this is not necessarily visible at first sight, which i like. In the end it is much more important for a poster to cause interest on the surface”.
