For the first Poster Monday of february we have a poster from Alessandro Pigoni from Milan, Italy with his poster Well-Come. Alessandro has a Bachelor’s in Graphic Design and graduated with honors from IED, Istituto Europeo di Design. He has participated in many national and international exhibitions, which include: Sonia Delaunay 130 International Poster Campaign, Blank Poster x [kɔn] Decay Exhibition and Ficciones Typografika.

For the poster Well-Come Alessandro started with a very simple concept: the hypocrisy of people. The poster was made during The Global Refugee Crisis Majid Abbasi poster workshop. Alessandro explains his concept: “This is the way in which European countries give the ‘welcome’ to refugees fleeing by war, deliberately misspelled the word ‘welcome’, to play with the double reading of the word well / hell. I felt that the word; ‘Hell-come’ has a very powerful meaning, a sort of ‘welcome to hell'”.

“I love doing posters and I think that poster design is one of the most pure form of graphic design. I like the idea that people are influenced and suggestionate by a lot of different stimuli and I like to try to write down those stimuli on posters” says Alessandro.
