“I created this poster a few weeks ago, especially for 3 December – International Day of Persons with Disabilities. My idea was to represent a shape sorting box as a metaphor for society, but instead of the right shapes put into it I tried to show different shapes that also fit into it, them being the persons with disabilities. From the space that’s left around them grow plants, showing the acceptance of differences, inclusion and growth. The Daily Center for Persons with Disabilities from my town got a print from this poster from me, as a gesture of appreciation on 3 December last week and their reactions were indescribably joyful.
Many people are not aware of the presence of people with disabilities in their society, so my aim was to bring attention to them through my followers on social media by creating this poster for the occasion, because these people deserve more of our care and love” say Marijana.
