Interstellar film posters are beautiful
The posters for Christopher Nolan’s new film Interstellar’ have been attracting a lot of attention, and now that the fourth poster has been released the sequence of images and tag lines has been completed. Hollywood reposter explains the connections of the posters with the movie trailers:
“The first of the posters to be revealed repeated the tagline from the teaser poster released in May: “Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here,”accompanying Matthew McConaughey’s character looking up at the sky with his daughter Murphy while standing in front of his “place in the dirt” as seen in the most recent trailer for the movie. (Murphy, too, plays an important part in that trailer.) From there, the second poster’s tagline continued the thought: “The end of Earth will not be the end of us,” with the third adding “Go Further.” Again, it’s worth watching the trailer when it comes to that second poster: the mountain with another mountain floating above it may make an appearance at the 2:05 mark. Now, the fourth poster completes the sequence with the tagline “Mankind’s next step will be our greatest,” as McConaughey and two other astronauts stand knee-deep in water. It’s not only the taglines from the poster that form a coherent sequence; the images in the four posters can be taken to feature McConaughey pre-space mission with his family, on the space mission, his spaceship the Endurance returning to Earth, and then he and the rest of the crew post-splashdown on Earth — or perhaps that’s just reading a little too much into things”.
What do you think about the posters? Do you agree that they are telling a story? Interstellar will be released in theatres Nov. 7th. We can’t wait to check it out!
