International Biennial Poster Design Terras Gauda
The International Biennial Poster Design Terras Gauda is one of the three most prestigious graphic design competitions in the world, and has announced its awards after the jury evaluated 1,568 original entries from 62 countries. Since 2001, more
than 17,000 posters have entered the competition.
The four awarded posters form part of the 40 finalists selected by the panel of judges at their meeting on October 27, with participants from Andorra, Poland, Italy, Germany, Israel, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Estonia, Slovakia, United States, Romania, Switzerland, Portugal and Spain. Pepe Gimeno, a graphic and type designer, was the leading professional on the panel of judges, which evaluated the 1,568 original entries from 62 countries that participated in the Biennial competition.
This year’s Biennial winners are:
1st Prize – UNITED BY, graphic design studio from Portugal, founded by
Miguel Palmeiro, National Prize for Design 2009 winner
1st Runner-up – MONIKA PRUS, designer from Poland
2nd Runner-up – JOAO MACHADO (Portugal), Icograda Excellence Award
winner and nominated for Graphis Design Master.
Honorable Mention – FERNANDO PINTEÑO, Spanish designer, two times
finalist in the Biennial Poster Design Terras Gauda
