Designed to combat the Zika virus, ‘The Mosquito Killer Billboard’ is able to mimic the essence of human sweat and breath to trap and kill the mosquitos that carry the virus. Created in collaboration between agencies Posterscope and NBS, these life-saving billboards emit a solution into the air that’s able to attract mosquitos for up to 2.5 miles. Fluorescent lights were also installed to help enhance this attraction. Mosquitos that get captured by the billboards will be trapped within the display, and eventually die of dehydration. The technology used to create these billboards is also free to download. Created under Creative Commons NonCommercial-Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International license, anyone can recreate these billboards in their home country to help combat the virus.
