Alphonse Mucha was a Czech painter, graphic artist and creator of world famous Art nouveau posters. He worked as a designer in Vienna, Paris and the USA. On April last year, an almost complete Alphonse Mucha’s poster collection was exhibited in Prague’s Municipal House, an art nouveau architectural landmark that Mucha helped decorate. The exhibition was considered one of the most important art events in the Czech Republic and it was the first time this 116 posters were display.

At that time, the collection was owned by Ivan Lendl, a famous Czech tennis player, passionate for Mucha’s work. The Huffpost Arts & Culture and Czech Republic Land Stories wrote pieces about the opening and exhibition details. On April 15^th this year, the Prague Post published an article announcing that the Czech billboard entrepreneur Richard Fuxa had bought the entire poster collection from the tennis star. BigMedia, Fuxa’s firm, organized the exhibition in Prague last year and, due to the high attendance, he and his team are considering further projects with the collection such as exhibitions in China, Japan and the United States.
