The exhibition Jan Lenica – the legend of Polish poster at the National Art Gallery in Sopot presents 135 images made by one of masters of the Polish poster school. In addition to the posters, the exhibition also features publishing prints, drawings, sketches and films from the collections of the National Museum in Poznan.
Jan Lenica, graduate of Architecture Faculty at the Warsaw Polytechnic, was an illustrator, graphic & poster designer, author of scenographies and animated movies. In last years of his life he also designed postcard stamps. He was professor at the Harvard University and the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin and he was also the author of numerous books and articles on poster art.
