Poster Monday: Home Sweet Home
For the third spot of the month we bring you a poster from Carmit Haller, a graphic designer from San Francisco, California; who for the past 20 years she has been working as a lead graphic designer in the fields of consumer market, high-tech startups and luxury real estate. Her passion lies in poster design and typography. Haller addresses cultural, social and political topics in a strong and thought provoking view. Carmit Haller is the recipient of worldwide prestigious awards such as Graphis as well as Rockport Publishing. Is member of AIGA since 2007 and a Mentor since 2020.
“For many women and girls, the threat looms largest where they should be safest. In their own homes… We know lockdowns and quarantines are essential to suppressing COVID-19. But they can trap women with abusive partners.” UN Secretary General António Guterres. The poster title is “Home Sweet Home” is a self-initiative poster, conveying domestic violence by typographic treatment. The torn letters suggest the results of a fight, and the red color symbolizes blood and suffering.
