Poster Monday: Flâneur
For the second Poster Monday spot of May we have a poster from Didem Eriskin entitled “Flâneur”. She was born in Izmir, Turkey on November 23, 1994; after finishing her undergraduate studies in Graphic Design, she started her master’s degree in Art and Design. She is currently working as a research assistant at the Department of Graphic Design at Yaşar University and continues to work as a freelancer. Her works generally consist of experimental typography and produce works in the field of kinetic typographic posters.
Flâneur is a word that means “wandering” in French. The poster was designed with reference to the word “Flâneur”. It was used as a typography tool to emphasize the word meaning of Flâneur, Inspired by Walter Benjamin’s book called Das Passagen Werk. The impression of stepping is designed to give letters and words the feeling of walking. The images used in the poster make you feel the meaning of the word. When we look at the poster, we both read the word Flâneur and see the steps as if there are people wandering around.
