Poster Monday: Yar authority
For the first Poster Monday spot of this week we have a poster from Iran designed by Vahid Bahrami titled “Yar authority”. Vahid studied graphic design in Tehran and he is an official member of the Iranian Graphic Designer Society (IGDS).
Vahid has been selected & participated in more than 50 other national and International poster exhibitions, such as the 6th International Poster festival of Peru, the poster international exhibition of Innovation in the Education – Turkey– Erzurum – Atatork University – 2013, and the fourth poster international biennial of students of Serbia. His work has been published in Mokaab magazine.
The poster “Yar authority” was designed for an invitational poster exhibition entitled Maghame Yar about the religious event Ashura. Ashura commemorated by Shi’a Muslims as a day of mourning for the martyrdom of Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of Muhammad the prophet at the Battle of Karbala on 10th day in the month of Muharram. Shi’a muslims tie up green fabrics and locks on saint places. The cup shows an image of Abbas holding Islam’s flag. Two birds beside him is symbolize peace and the bottom shows a poem about loyalty.
