A few weeks ago the Ecuador Poster Bienal concluded their 2022 edition competition in which they received an astonishing 11672 posters from over 80 countries from all around the world.

Right now the international jury of which features some of the best graphic designers in the world are currently voting on the works in order to get the final 300 selected posters and also the winners.

Opening Ceremony EPB2020+1

After 35 months of planning the official opening ceremony of the Ecuador Poster Bienal 2020+1 international poster exhibition that was held on the 3rd December 2021 at 5pm at the historic Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana in Quito, Ecuador.

This important exhibition was made thanks to the Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana, QILATE 480 and the IBCC International Biennales Coordinating Committee. The EPB would like to congratulation all the selected and winning designers and to share your wonderful work on the walls on Ecuador’s most important cultural center of which was established in 1944.

A special mention to all of the EPB team for your hard work and dedication for promoting the visual arts and graphic design in Ecuador and the world.

EPB 2022 – Call for Posters

This month was the official launch of the 4th edition of the poster competition the Ecuador Poster Bienal 2022 of which is considered one of most important events for the poster and graphic design in Ecuador and the world.

From it’s beginning back in 2015 the EPB has received more than 30,000 works from 84 countries and has opened exhibitions in Ecuador, China, Argentina, Chile, France and Poland of which has contributed greatly to the visual arts nationally and internationally.

EPB FESTIVAL 2020

From the 14th October to the 19th October the Ecuador Poster Bienal® will host the EPB FESTIVAL 2020 which will include various activities such a special virtual exhibition in collaboration with V-ART Virtual Gallery, launch of the official 2020 book, EPB Chat, award ceremony and on the final day a opening ceremony of a exhibition in China will be inaugurated by the China Europe International Design Culture Association at the Shenyang Institute of Technology.

Throughout the festival we will be sharing all the news and live streams on our Facebook Page.

Ecuador Poster Bienal in Poland

Last week was the official opening of the 2nd Ecuador Poster Bienal® in Lublin, Poland at the Spotkania Kultur which is one of the biggest cultural centres in Europe.

The exhibition will stay open until the 5th May and then the posters will travel to Warsaw during the month of June.

Ecuador Poster Bienal® 2018

A few weeks ago was the successful opening of the Ecuador Poster Bienal® 2018 in Quito, Ecuador.

The exhibition consisted of over 800 posters from various topics such as Commercial, Social, Political and much more; also the Ecuador Poster Bienal® decided to showcase the work of such poster masters as Erich Brechbühl (Switzerland), Slobodan Štetić (Serbia), David Jiménez (Ecuador) and Speak Up Poster (Mexico) of which all of these posters were displayed in famous Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana Benjamín Carrión – Sala Jaoquin Pinto. Finally a special exhibition called Chinese Culture (China) was organised in collaboration with Sha Feng and the Chinese Embassy in Ecuador to embrace the impact of the Chinese poster on the world. Back in 2017 China was nominated as the invited country of honour due to their contribution throughout the 2016 edition.

“I am very pleased that China is the invited country of the Ecuador Poster Bienal® 2018. Today, Chinese poster design has entered a new era, and many Chinese poster works have been recognized by the world’s major poster exhibitions, Such as Ecuador Poster Bienal®. China’s poster design language has become more diversified as various poster exhibitions are held and exchanged. This book will reflect the current standards and status quo of Chinese poster design, which is both affirmation and motivation. I also hope that there will be more excellent posters and more cultural exchanges between China and Ecuador in the future.”

The Ecuador Poster Bienal is currently accepting poster designs for their 2018 competition! If you are a designer who would like to submit a poster you have 5 days left to send your very best work for this amazing opportunity.

The Ecuador Poster Bienal seeks to be one of the most important events of design and visual communication in Latin America and the world, to create an impact on society and change what we think about the things we see.

This global competition has proven to be a huge success since it’s inception. The first competition produced thousands of artist poster entries that were carefully reviewed and selected by a jury of internationally recognized designers. It’s traveling exhibitions have spanned countries around the world and were shown in top galleries and educational institutions.

We are happy to share with you some very exciting news in the world of posters. The Ecuador Poster Bienal is currently exhibiting a selection of amazing posters in the country of China. The show has been carefully organized and curated by an international group of designers and educators. Some of the very best posters that were selected for the Ecuador Poster Bienal will be on display at the Vanke Canal Bund Art Museum in Wuxi, China. It is also worth noting that China has been an invited country to participate in the upcoming 2018 Ecuador Poster Bienal. The exhibition can be seen until Oct. 29th, 2017.

The team at Poster Poster is very happy to share with you details and pictures from a special exhibition happening now in Poland. Currently, the Post-Ecuador Poster Bienal is being held at the Olympic Centre in Warsaw, and features over 160 posters designed from artists around the world.

The Ecuador Poster Bienal was founded in Sept. 2015. It’s efforts focus to be an academic, professional, and creative event that connects the best visual communicators worldwide. It was founded by Christopher Scott and Santiago Gomez with the goal of bringing design to Ecuador and to the world, but also aims to get Ecuador recognized as one of the best countries in Latin America for design. The bienal kicked-off with an international poster competition that had a jury consisting of some of the top designers in the world. It brought in nearly 10,000 poster entries in which the best works were selected in various categories. The bienal continues traveling to many great countries and museums including the Centro Cultural De La PUCE, Quito, Ecuador, the Universidad Tecnológica Equinoccial Sede Matriz, Quito, Ecuador, and Centrum Spotkania Kultur in Lublin, Poland.
