Posters which help to detect eye cancer

Flash photography is one of the easiest ways to detect a life-threatening eye cancer called Retinoblastoma. The tumour can develop in young children from birth and often reflects back as a white pupil. Early detection is the key to saving their sight and their lives. That’s why British organisation, CHECT (Childhood Eye Cancer Trust) created the Flash Photo Posters, using reflective ink. It is a way to show parents how they can easily detect eye cancer in their child by themselves. All they need to do is just take a photo of the kid’s eyes, using a smartphone. In this case one photo can truly save child’s health, or even life. Parents were also encouraged to show pictures on #haveyouCHECT. Just check out the video!

Isn’t it wonderful? Unfortunately, it isn’t. This ironic campaign shows how often people abandon their old friends and treat their decision about bringing a dog to the house as temporary whim. That’s why the Toronto Humane Society and Canadian Grip agency created a series of ironic posters, as well as a fake device website and movie ad. They hoped the campaign will people realize that a pet is not a toy which we can just trade up at the end of the season, but a life-time commitment. Check the movie and website here. Human body curiosities illustrated on posters

Did you know that there’s more bacteria in your mouth than people on Earth? Or that your brain can power a lightbulb? If not, here’s an opportunity to discover a couple of interesting facts related with the human body. And in case you already know them, you should still check out how cleverly illustrated they are on this poster series made by Pâté studio. Strong, simple and a clear message. This set of posters was designed by Wyn T. as part of his master thesis at the University of Arts in Berlin. For this occasion he created a series of 12 posters, investigated as a means of political communication. Whole series can be seen here.

Posters for Charlie Hebdo

Yesterday was a very sad day as gunmen shot dead 12 people at the Paris office of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, in an apparent militant Islamist attack. Four of the magazine’s well-known cartoonists, including its editor, were among those killed, as well as two police officers.

In response to this tragic event designers and artists from around the world created posters to show their support and to advocate for the importance of freedom of expression.

Happy People Project, an agency from Istanbul is showing us that tires can be promoted in a very stylish way. They prepared for their client, Lassa, series of posters made up by parts of garments using the fabric as a reference to winter tires. The Patterns on the cloth remind us of tire tracks on the road, and the slogan on every “label” reads Fashion of the roads, Fall & Winter. Now we can see that fashion and tracks can have quite a lot in common. And it’s definitely prêt-à–porter.

Magic poster for Magic Festival

What hides inside a magician’s hat? People who saw this magic poster before the Quebec City Magic Festival had a chance to find an answer for this question – but first, they had to make it appear… And they found much more than a rabbit!

The simple blank posters featuring the magician’s hat had three major advantages: They stood out against the colourful ads on city streets, they surprised you in more ways than you could expect, and finally – they provided an opportunity for everyone who saw them to became a magician for a moment.
